With a history of over 2,200 years, Fuzhou is not only a famous historical and cultural city in China but also the capital of Fujian Province. It has become an important power energy base in Fujian Province and even southeastern coastal area. Three group companies in the 5 top Chinese power companies, namely, Huadian Power Generation Co., Ltd., Guodian Power Generation Co., Ltd., and Huaneng Power Plant as well as Luneng Group all have made investment in Fuzhou. The power supply of Fuzhou not only meets the demands of production and life in Fuzhou itself but also is transported and sold outside Fujian Province.

A project for liquid natural gas has been introduced and has begun construction. Its daily gas supply is estimated to reach 0.5 million cubic meters upon completion in 2009.
